Prior to version 6.1.3, an attacker who uses this vulnerability can craft a PDF which leads to an infinite loop. This requires parsing the content stream of a page which has an inline image using the DCTDecode filter. This has been fixed in pypdf version 6.1.3.","cvss_v4":{"vector":"CVSS:4.0/AV:N/AC:L/AT:N/PR:N/UI:N/VC:N/VI:N/VA:H/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N/E:U","score":6.6},"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H","score":7.5},"cwes":["CWE-834"],"references":["https://github.com/py-pdf/pypdf/commit/f2864d6dd9bac7cecd3f4f54308b25ebbfa178f8","https://github.com/py-pdf/pypdf/pull/3501","https://github.com/py-pdf/pypdf/releases/tag/6.1.3","https://github.com/py-pdf/pypdf/security/advisories/GHSA-vr63-x8vc-m265"],"products":["pypdf_project:pypdf"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T22:12:35.277909958+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2025-62707","score":0.00444,"percentile":0.38358,"date":"2026-10-25"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-vr63-x8vc-m265","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-vr63-x8vc-m265","summary":"pypdf possibly loops infinitely when reading DCT inline images without EOF marker","modified":"2026-09-10T03:50:58.424138377Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"PyPI","name":"pypdf","purl":"pkg:pypi/pypdf","ranges":["<6.1.3"],"fixed":["6.1.3"]}]},{"id":"PYSEC-2026-1833","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/PYSEC-2026-1833","summary":"pypdf possibly loops infinitely when reading DCT inline images without EOF marker","modified":"2026-07-07T17:46:59.377958474Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"PyPI","name":"pypdf","purl":"pkg:pypi/pypdf","ranges":["<6.1.3"],"fixed":["6.1.3"]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
