In versions 2.16.2 to before 2.16.3 and 3.0.1 to before 3.0.3, a bypass to CVE-2025-8129 was discovered in the Koa.js framework affecting its back redirect functionality. In certain circumstances, an attacker can manipulate the Referer header to force a user’s browser to navigate to an external, potentially malicious website. This occurs because the implementation incorrectly treats some specially crafted URLs as safe relative paths. Exploiting this vulnerability could allow attackers to perform phishing, social engineering, or other redirect-based attacks on users of affected applications. This issue has been patched in version 3.0.3.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:R/S:C/C:L/I:L/A:N","score":6.1},"cwes":["CWE-601"],"references":["https://github.com/koajs/koa/commit/769fd75cc6b30d72493b370b5a3ae2332ca03c5b","https://github.com/koajs/koa/security/advisories/GHSA-g8mr-fgfg-5qpc","https://github.com/koajs/koa/security/advisories/GHSA-g8mr-fgfg-5qpc"],"products":["koajs:koa"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T22:12:35.277909958+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2025-62595","score":0.00293,"percentile":0.21686,"date":"2026-10-25"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-g8mr-fgfg-5qpc","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-g8mr-fgfg-5qpc","summary":"Koa Vulnerable to Open Redirect via Trailing Double-Slash (//) in back Redirect Logic","modified":"2026-02-03T03:16:37.947987Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"npm","name":"koa","purl":"pkg:npm/koa","ranges":[">=3.0.1 <3.0.3"],"fixed":["3.0.3"]},{"ecosystem":"npm","name":"koa","purl":"pkg:npm/koa","ranges":[">=2.16.2 <2.16.3"],"fixed":["2.16.3"]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
