In versions 0.8.6 and below, go-f3 panics when it validates a \"poison\" messages causing Filecoin nodes consuming F3 messages to become vulnerable. A \"poison\" message can can cause integer overflow in the signer index validation, which can cause the whole node to crash. These malicious messages aren't self-propagating since the bug is in the validator. An attacker needs to directly send the message to all targets. This issue is fixed in version 0.8.7.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H","score":7.5},"cwes":["CWE-190"],"references":["https://github.com/filecoin-project/go-f3/security/advisories/GHSA-g99p-47x7-mq88"],"products":["filecoin:go-f3"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T22:11:26.888974865+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2025-59942","score":0.00335,"percentile":0.26623,"date":"2026-10-26"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-g99p-47x7-mq88","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-g99p-47x7-mq88","summary":"go-f3 module vulnerable to integer overflow leading to panic","modified":"2025-10-23T20:32:56Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"Go","name":"github.com/filecoin-project/go-f3","purl":"pkg:golang/github.com/filecoin-project/go-f3","ranges":["<0.8.7"],"fixed":["0.8.7"]}]},{"id":"GO-2025-3990","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GO-2025-3990","summary":"go-f3 module vulnerable to integer overflow leading to panic in github.com/filecoin-project/go-f3","modified":"2026-03-03T04:57:29.118160Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"Go","name":"github.com/filecoin-project/go-f3","purl":"pkg:golang/github.com/filecoin-project/go-f3","ranges":["<0.8.7"],"fixed":["0.8.7"]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
