In versions 5.13.4 and later before 5.13.10, the image proxy domain validation can be bypassed by using backslashes in the href parameter, allowing server-side requests to arbitrary URLs. This can lead to server-side request forgery (SSRF) and potentially cross-site scripting (XSS). This vulnerability exists due to an incomplete fix for CVE-2025-58179. Fixed in 5.13.10.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:C/C:L/I:L/A:N","score":7.2},"cwes":["CWE-79","CWE-918"],"references":["https://github.com/withastro/astro/commit/1e2499e8ea83ebfa233a18a7499e1ccf169e56f4","https://github.com/withastro/astro/commit/9ecf3598e2b29dd74614328fde3047ea90e67252","https://github.com/withastro/astro/security/advisories/GHSA-qcpr-679q-rhm2"],"products":["astro:astro"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T22:14:53.307938015+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2025-59837","score":0.00351,"percentile":0.28499,"date":"2026-10-25"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-qcpr-679q-rhm2","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-qcpr-679q-rhm2","summary":"Astro's bypass of image proxy domain validation leads to SSRF and potential XSS","modified":"2025-10-29T14:48:45Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"npm","name":"astro","purl":"pkg:npm/astro","ranges":[">=5.13.4 <5.13.10"],"fixed":["5.13.10"]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
