Prior to version 2.0.30, there is an HTML injection vulnerability in plaintext e-mails generated by Mailgen. Projects are affected if the Mailgen.generatePlaintext(email) method is used and given user-generated content. This vulnerability has been patched in version 2.0.30. A workaround involves stripping all HTML tags before passing any content into Mailgen.generatePlaintext(email).","cvss_v4":{"vector":"CVSS:4.0/AV:N/AC:L/AT:N/PR:N/UI:N/VC:N/VI:N/VA:N/SC:N/SI:L/SA:L/E:U","score":2.7},"cvss_v3":null,"cwes":["CWE-79"],"references":["https://github.com/eladnava/mailgen/commit/741a0190ddae0f408b22ae3b5f0f4c3f5cf4f11d","https://github.com/eladnava/mailgen/security/advisories/GHSA-j2xj-h7w5-r7vp"],"products":[],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T22:10:08.713834912+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2025-59526","score":0.00438,"percentile":0.37824,"date":"2026-10-25"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-j2xj-h7w5-r7vp","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-j2xj-h7w5-r7vp","summary":"Mailgen: HTML injection vulnerability in plaintext e-mails","modified":"2025-09-23T20:50:37Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"npm","name":"mailgen","purl":"pkg:npm/mailgen","ranges":["<2.0.30"],"fixed":["2.0.30"]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
