In versions up to and including 1.5.0, the `pickle_operations` function in `monai/data/utils.py` automatically handles dictionary key-value pairs ending with a specific suffix and deserializes them using `pickle.loads()` . This function also lacks any security measures. The deserialization may lead to code execution. As of time of publication, no known fixed versions are available.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:R/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H","score":8.8},"cwes":["CWE-502"],"references":["https://github.com/Project-MONAI/MONAI/security/advisories/GHSA-p8cm-mm2v-gwjm","https://github.com/Project-MONAI/MONAI/security/advisories/GHSA-p8cm-mm2v-gwjm"],"products":["monai:medical_open_network_for_ai"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T22:08:41.295252406+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2025-58757","score":0.00645,"percentile":0.50938,"date":"2026-10-31"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-p8cm-mm2v-gwjm","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-p8cm-mm2v-gwjm","summary":"Monai: Unsafe use of Pickle deserialization may lead to RCE","modified":"2026-06-06T00:45:46.049003481Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"PyPI","name":"monai","purl":"pkg:pypi/monai","ranges":["<1.5.1"],"fixed":["1.5.1"]}]},{"id":"PYSEC-2025-142","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/PYSEC-2025-142","summary":"","modified":"2026-05-20T09:19:08.755386Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"PyPI","name":"monai","purl":"pkg:pypi/monai","ranges":["<1.5.1rc1"],"fixed":["1.5.1rc1"]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
