In version 4.4.0, the GET /download/ route uses string path verification via os.path.commonprefix, which allows an authenticated user to download files outside the DWD_DIR download directory from \"neighboring\" directories whose absolute paths begin with the same prefix as DWD_DIR (e.g., .../downloads_bak, .../downloads.old). This is a Directory Traversal (escape) leading to a data leak. This issue has been patched in version 4.4.1.","cvss_v4":{"vector":"CVSS:4.0/AV:N/AC:L/AT:N/PR:L/UI:N/VC:L/VI:N/VA:N/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N/E:U","score":1.3},"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:L/I:N/A:N","score":4.3},"cwes":["CWE-22"],"references":["https://github.com/MobSF/Mobile-Security-Framework-MobSF/commit/7f3bc086c028c1b50889cab8a15f7b59b7abdaf9","https://github.com/MobSF/Mobile-Security-Framework-MobSF/releases/tag/v4.4.1","https://github.com/MobSF/Mobile-Security-Framework-MobSF/security/advisories/GHSA-ccc3-fvfx-mw3v"],"products":["opensecurity:mobile_security_framework"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T22:07:46.309729541+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2025-58161","score":0.00799,"percentile":0.56281,"date":"2026-10-25"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-ccc3-fvfx-mw3v","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-ccc3-fvfx-mw3v","summary":"MobSF Path Traversal in GET /download/<filename> using absolute filenames","modified":"2026-07-07T17:57:01.315831620Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"PyPI","name":"mobsf","purl":"pkg:pypi/mobsf","ranges":["<4.4.1"],"fixed":["4.4.1"]}]},{"id":"PYSEC-2026-1672","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/PYSEC-2026-1672","summary":"MobSF Path Traversal in GET /download/<filename> using absolute filenames","modified":"2026-07-07T17:47:05.862226919Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"PyPI","name":"mobsf","purl":"pkg:pypi/mobsf","ranges":["<4.4.1"],"fixed":["4.4.1"]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
