{"cve":"CVE-2025-57822","nvd":{"published":"2025-08-29T22:15:32.143","modified":"2026-10-18T21:10:00.120","status":"Analyzed","description":"Next.js is a React framework for building full-stack web applications. Prior to versions 14.2.32 and 15.4.7, when next() was used without explicitly passing the request object, it could lead to SSRF in self-hosted applications that incorrectly forwarded user-supplied headers. This vulnerability has been fixed in Next.js versions 14.2.32 and 15.4.7. All users implementing custom middleware logic in self-hosted environments are strongly encouraged to upgrade and verify correct usage of the next() function.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:L/A:N","score":8.2},"cwes":["CWE-918"],"references":["https://github.com/vercel/next.js/commit/9c9aaed5bb9338ef31b0517ccf0ab4414f2093d8","https://github.com/vercel/next.js/security/advisories/GHSA-4342-x723-ch2f","https://vercel.com/changelog/cve-2025-57822"],"products":["vercel:next.js"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T22:07:46.309729541+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2025-57822","score":0.02584,"percentile":0.85126,"date":"2026-10-25"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-4342-x723-ch2f","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-4342-x723-ch2f","summary":"Next.js Improper Middleware Redirect Handling Leads to SSRF","modified":"2026-09-10T03:50:26.545785200Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"npm","name":"next","purl":"pkg:npm/next","ranges":[">=0.9.9 <14.2.32"],"fixed":["14.2.32"]},{"ecosystem":"npm","name":"next","purl":"pkg:npm/next","ranges":[">=15.0.0-canary.0 <15.4.7"],"fixed":["15.4.7"]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
