{"cve":"CVE-2025-55284","nvd":{"published":"2025-08-16T02:15:24.637","modified":"2026-06-17T09:41:34.987","status":"Analyzed","description":"Claude Code is an agentic coding tool. Prior to version 1.0.4, it's possible to bypass the Claude Code confirmation prompts to read a file and then send file contents over the network without user confirmation due to an overly broad allowlist of safe commands. Reliably exploiting this requires the ability to add untrusted content into a Claude Code context window. Users on standard Claude Code auto-update received this fix automatically after release. Current users of Claude Code are unaffected, as versions prior to 1.0.24 are deprecated and have been forced to update.","cvss_v4":{"vector":"CVSS:4.0/AV:N/AC:L/AT:N/PR:N/UI:P/VC:H/VI:N/VA:N/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N","score":7.1},"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:N/A:N","score":7.5},"cwes":["CWE-78"],"references":["https://github.com/anthropics/claude-code/security/advisories/GHSA-x5gv-jw7f-j6xj"],"products":["anthropic:claude_code"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T22:06:45.861874017+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2025-55284","score":0.00596,"percentile":0.48502,"date":"2026-10-31"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-x5gv-jw7f-j6xj","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-x5gv-jw7f-j6xj","summary":"Claude Code's Permissive Default Allowlist Enables Unauthorized File Read and Network Exfiltration in Claude Code","modified":"2025-08-18T20:27:29.564350Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"npm","name":"@anthropic-ai/claude-code","purl":"pkg:npm/%40anthropic-ai/claude-code","ranges":["<1.0.4"],"fixed":["1.0.4"]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
