Prior to version 0.0.13, the MCP Server is written in a way that is vulnerable to command injection vulnerability attacks as part of some of its MCP Server tool definition and implementation. The MCP Server exposes the tool `which-app-on-port` which relies on Node.js child process API `exec` which is an unsafe and vulnerable API if concatenated with untrusted user input. Version 0.0.13 contains a fix for the issue.","cvss_v4":{"vector":"CVSS:4.0/AV:N/AC:L/AT:N/PR:N/UI:N/VC:H/VI:H/VA:H/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N","score":9.3},"cvss_v3":null,"cwes":["CWE-78"],"references":["https://github.com/akoskm/create-mcp-server-stdio/blob/main/src/index.ts#L24-L40","https://github.com/akoskm/create-mcp-server-stdio/commit/48c26bbe1f8c62764e4592f33c8300d1cadd2eac","https://github.com/akoskm/create-mcp-server-stdio/security/advisories/GHSA-3ch2-jxxc-v4xf"],"products":[],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T22:08:41.295252406+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2025-54994","score":0.01337,"percentile":0.71231,"date":"2026-10-31"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-3ch2-jxxc-v4xf","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-3ch2-jxxc-v4xf","summary":"@akoskm/create-mcp-server-stdio is vulnerable to MCP Server Command Injection through `exec` API","modified":"2025-09-10T21:03:16Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"npm","name":"@akoskm/create-mcp-server-stdio","purl":"pkg:npm/%40akoskm/create-mcp-server-stdio","ranges":["<0.0.13"],"fixed":["0.0.13"]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
