If an attacker-supplied message contains certain non-printable characters, these will be passed along in the message and written out as part of the JSON message. This may prevent applications that consume these logs from correctly interpreting the information within them.\n\nThis issue affects Apache Log4cxx: before 1.5.0.\n\nUsers are recommended to upgrade to version 1.5.0, which fixes the issue.","cvss_v4":{"vector":"CVSS:4.0/AV:N/AC:L/AT:P/PR:N/UI:N/VC:N/VI:L/VA:N/SC:N/SI:L/SA:N","score":6.3},"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:H/A:N","score":7.5},"cwes":["CWE-117"],"references":["https://github.com/apache/logging-log4cxx/pull/512","https://logging.apache.org/security.html#CVE-2025-54813","http://www.openwall.com/lists/oss-security/2025/08/22/3","https://lists.debian.org/debian-lts-announce/2025/10/msg00002.html"],"products":["apache:log4cxx"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T22:07:46.309729541+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2025-54813","score":0.0135,"percentile":0.71514,"date":"2026-10-31"},"kev":null,"osv":[],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
