{"cve":"CVE-2025-54804","nvd":{"published":"2025-08-05T01:15:42.550","modified":"2026-06-17T09:40:44.133","status":"Analyzed","description":"Russh is a Rust SSH client & server library. In versions 0.54.0 and below, the channel window adjust message of the SSH protocol is used to track the free space in the receive buffer of the other side of a channel. The current implementation takes the value from the message and adds it to an internal state value. This can result in a integer overflow. If the Rust code is compiled with overflow checks, it will panic. A malicious client can crash a server. This is fixed in version 0.54.1.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H","score":6.5},"cwes":["CWE-190"],"references":["https://github.com/Eugeny/russh/commit/0eb5e406780890e21ff71dd25d731b30676478e5","https://github.com/Eugeny/russh/security/advisories/GHSA-h5rc-j5f5-3gcm","https://github.com/Eugeny/russh/security/advisories/GHSA-h5rc-j5f5-3gcm"],"products":["russh_project:russh","warpgate_project:warpgate"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T22:06:45.861874017+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2025-54804","score":0.00419,"percentile":0.36228,"date":"2026-10-31"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-h5rc-j5f5-3gcm","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-h5rc-j5f5-3gcm","summary":"russh is missing overflow checks during channel windows adjust","modified":"2026-09-10T03:50:27.096647420Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"crates.io","name":"russh","purl":"pkg:cargo/russh","ranges":["<0.54.1"],"fixed":["0.54.1"]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
