{"cve":"CVE-2025-54793","nvd":{"published":"2025-08-08T01:15:24.950","modified":"2026-06-17T09:40:42.930","status":"Analyzed","description":"Astro is a web framework for content-driven websites. In versions 5.2.0 through 5.12.7, there is an Open Redirect vulnerability in the trailing slash redirection logic when handling paths with double slashes. This allows an attacker to redirect users to arbitrary external domains by crafting URLs such as https://mydomain.com//malicious-site.com/. This increases the risk of phishing and other social engineering attacks. This affects sites that use on-demand rendering (SSR) with the Node or Cloudflare adapters. It does not affect static sites, or sites deployed to Netlify or Vercel. This issue is fixed in version 5.12.8. To work around this issue at the network level, block outgoing redirect responses with a Location header value that starts with `//`.","cvss_v4":{"vector":"CVSS:4.0/AV:N/AC:L/AT:N/PR:N/UI:N/VC:N/VI:N/VA:N/SC:L/SI:L/SA:N/E:P","score":5.5},"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:R/S:C/C:L/I:L/A:N","score":6.1},"cwes":["CWE-601"],"references":["https://github.com/withastro/astro/commit/0567fb7b50c0c452be387dd7c7264b96bedab48f","https://github.com/withastro/astro/security/advisories/GHSA-cq8c-xv66-36gw"],"products":["astro:astro"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T22:06:45.861874017+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2025-54793","score":0.00696,"percentile":0.53044,"date":"2026-11-01"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-cq8c-xv66-36gw","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-cq8c-xv66-36gw","summary":"Astros's duplicate trailing slash feature leads to an open redirection security issue","modified":"2025-11-27T08:35:13.558198Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"npm","name":"astro","purl":"pkg:npm/astro","ranges":[">=5.2.0 <5.12.8"],"fixed":["5.12.8"]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
