Specially-crafted input may lead to log output where part of the message masquerades as a separate log line, confusing consumers of the logs (either human or automated). \n\nAs this project is retired, we do not plan to release a version that fixes this issue. Users are recommended to find an alternative or restrict access to the instance to trusted users.\n\nNOTE: This vulnerability only affects products that are no longer supported by the maintainer.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:L/I:L/A:N","score":6.5},"cwes":["CWE-117"],"references":["https://lists.apache.org/thread/so5cn07j2zn9vlf1xnfqp630wts719rr","http://www.openwall.com/lists/oss-security/2025/07/30/1"],"products":["apache:struts_extras"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T22:05:46.678065081+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2025-54656","score":0.00671,"percentile":0.52056,"date":"2026-10-31"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-cx25-xg7c-xfm5","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-cx25-xg7c-xfm5","summary":"Apache Struts Extras Before 2 has an Improper Output Neutralization for Logs Vulnerability","modified":"2025-11-14T23:09:54.325221Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"Maven","name":"org.apache.struts:struts-extras","purl":"pkg:maven/org.apache.struts/struts-extras","ranges":["<=1.3.10"],"fixed":[]},{"ecosystem":"Maven","name":"struts:struts","purl":"pkg:maven/struts/struts","ranges":["1.2.9"],"fixed":[]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
