{"cve":"CVE-2025-54369","nvd":{"published":"2025-07-24T23:15:26.790","modified":"2026-06-17T09:39:56.393","status":"Deferred","description":"Node-SAML is a SAML library not dependent on any frameworks that runs in Node. In versions 5.0.1 and below, Node-SAML loads the assertion from the (unsigned) original response document. This is different than the parts that are verified when checking signature. This allows an attacker to modify authentication details within a valid SAML assertion. For example, in one attack it is possible to remove any character from the SAML assertion username. This issue is fixed in version 5.1.0.","cvss_v4":{"vector":"CVSS:4.0/AV:N/AC:L/AT:N/PR:N/UI:N/VC:H/VI:H/VA:N/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N","score":9.3},"cvss_v3":null,"cwes":["CWE-87","CWE-347"],"references":["https://github.com/node-saml/node-saml/commit/31ead9411ebc3e2385086fa9149b6c17732bca10","https://github.com/node-saml/node-saml/releases/tag/v5.1.0","https://github.com/node-saml/node-saml/security/advisories/GHSA-m837-g268-mmv7"],"products":[],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T22:05:46.678065081+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2025-54369","score":0.00546,"percentile":0.45809,"date":"2026-10-31"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-m837-g268-mmv7","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-m837-g268-mmv7","summary":"Node-SAML SAML Authentication Bypass","modified":"2026-09-10T03:50:57.907060495Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"npm","name":"node-saml","purl":"pkg:npm/node-saml","ranges":["<=3.1.2"],"fixed":[]},{"ecosystem":"npm","name":"@node-saml/node-saml","purl":"pkg:npm/%40node-saml/node-saml","ranges":["<5.1.0"],"fixed":["5.1.0"]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
