{"cve":"CVE-2025-54137","nvd":{"published":"2025-07-22T22:15:38.097","modified":"2026-06-17T09:39:31.100","status":"Analyzed","description":"HAX CMS NodeJS allows users to manage their microsite universe with a NodeJS backend. Versions 11.0.9 and below were distributed with hardcoded default credentials for the user and superuser accounts. Additionally, the application has default private keys for JWTs. Users aren't prompted to change credentials or secrets during installation, and there is no way to change them through the UI. An unauthenticated attacker can read the default user credentials and JWT private keys from the public haxtheweb GitHub repositories. These credentials and keys can be used to access unconfigured self-hosted instances of the application, modify sites, and perform further attacks. This is fixed in version 11.0.10.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:L/I:L/A:L","score":7.3},"cwes":["CWE-1392"],"references":["https://github.com/haxtheweb/haxcms-nodejs/blob/main/src/lib/HAXCMS.js#L1614","https://github.com/haxtheweb/haxcms-nodejs/commit/6dc2441c876350ca6fe9fbaecb058d92ef442869","https://github.com/haxtheweb/issues/security/advisories/GHSA-5fpv-5qvh-7cf3"],"products":["psu:haxcms-nodejs"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T22:05:46.678065081+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2025-54137","score":0.00394,"percentile":0.33577,"date":"2026-10-31"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-5fpv-5qvh-7cf3","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-5fpv-5qvh-7cf3","summary":"NodeJS version of the HAX CMS application is distributed with Default Secrets","modified":"2025-07-23T13:36:55Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"npm","name":"@haxtheweb/haxcms-nodejs","purl":"pkg:npm/%40haxtheweb/haxcms-nodejs","ranges":["<11.0.10"],"fixed":["11.0.10"]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
