{"cve":"CVE-2025-53892","nvd":{"published":"2025-07-16T14:15:28.357","modified":"2026-06-17T09:39:05.340","status":"Deferred","description":"Vue I18n is the internationalization plugin for Vue.js. The escapeParameterHtml: true option in Vue I18n is designed to protect against HTML/script injection by escaping interpolated parameters. However, starting in version 9.0.0 and prior to versions 9.14.5, 10.0.8, and 11.1.0, this setting fails to prevent execution of certain tag-based payloads, such as <img src=x onerror=...>, if the interpolated value is inserted inside an HTML context using v-html. This may lead to a DOM-based XSS vulnerability, even when using escapeParameterHtml: true, if a translation string includes minor HTML and is rendered via v-html. Versions 9.14.5, 10.0.8, and 11.1.0 contain a fix for the issue.","cvss_v4":{"vector":"CVSS:4.0/AV:N/AC:L/AT:N/PR:N/UI:P/VC:N/VI:N/VA:N/SC:L/SI:L/SA:N","score":5.3},"cvss_v3":null,"cwes":["CWE-79"],"references":["https://github.com/intlify/vue-i18n/commit/49f982443ab8fd94ecc427b265ce97d57df94d7e","https://github.com/intlify/vue-i18n/commit/a47099619fb9b256e86341a8658ebe72e92ab099","https://github.com/intlify/vue-i18n/pull/2229","https://github.com/intlify/vue-i18n/pull/2230","https://github.com/intlify/vue-i18n/releases/tag/v10.0.8"],"products":[],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T22:05:46.678065081+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2025-53892","score":0.00808,"percentile":0.56868,"date":"2026-10-31"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-x8qp-wqqm-57ph","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-x8qp-wqqm-57ph","summary":"vue-i18n's escapeParameterHtml does not prevent DOM-based XSS through its tag attributes","modified":"2026-09-10T03:50:57.972539838Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"npm","name":"vue-i18n","purl":"pkg:npm/vue-i18n","ranges":[">=9.0.0 <9.14.5"],"fixed":["9.14.5"]},{"ecosystem":"npm","name":"vue-i18n","purl":"pkg:npm/vue-i18n","ranges":[">=10.0.0 <10.0.8"],"fixed":["10.0.8"]},{"ecosystem":"npm","name":"vue-i18n","purl":"pkg:npm/vue-i18n","ranges":[">=11.0.0 <11.1.10"],"fixed":["11.1.10"]},{"ecosystem":"npm","name":"@intlify/core","purl":"pkg:npm/%40intlify/core","ranges":[">=9.0.0 <9.14.5"],"fixed":["9.14.5"]},{"ecosystem":"npm","name":"@intlify/core","purl":"pkg:npm/%40intlify/core","ranges":[">=10.0.0 <10.0.8"],"fixed":["10.0.8"]},{"ecosystem":"npm","name":"@intlify/core","purl":"pkg:npm/%40intlify/core","ranges":[">=11.0.0 <11.1.10"],"fixed":["11.1.10"]},{"ecosystem":"npm","name":"@intlify/core-base","purl":"pkg:npm/%40intlify/core-base","ranges":[">=9.0.0 <9.14.5"],"fixed":["9.14.5"]},{"ecosystem":"npm","name":"@intlify/core-base","purl":"pkg:npm/%40intlify/core-base","ranges":[">=10.0.0 <10.0.8"],"fixed":["10.0.8"]},{"ecosystem":"npm","name":"@intlify/core-base","purl":"pkg:npm/%40intlify/core-base","ranges":[">=11.0.0 <11.1.10"],"fixed":["11.1.10"]},{"ecosystem":"npm","name":"@intlify/vue-i18n-core","purl":"pkg:npm/%40intlify/vue-i18n-core","ranges":[">=9.2.0 <9.14.5"],"fixed":["9.14.5"]},{"ecosystem":"npm","name":"@intlify/vue-i18n-core","purl":"pkg:npm/%40intlify/vue-i18n-core","ranges":[">=10.0.0 <10.0.8"],"fixed":["10.0.8"]},{"ecosystem":"npm","name":"@intlify/vue-i18n-core","purl":"pkg:npm/%40intlify/vue-i18n-core","ranges":[">=11.0.0 <11.1.10"],"fixed":["11.1.10"]},{"ecosystem":"npm","name":"petite-vue-i18n","purl":"pkg:npm/petite-vue-i18n","ranges":[">=10.0.0 <10.0.8"],"fixed":["10.0.8"]},{"ecosystem":"npm","name":"petite-vue-i18n","purl":"pkg:npm/petite-vue-i18n","ranges":[">=11.0.0 <11.1.10"],"fixed":["11.1.10"]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
