Prior to 1.3.0, a command injection vulnerability exists in the node-code-sandbox-mcp MCP Server. The vulnerability is caused by the unsanitized use of input parameters within a call to child_process.execSync, enabling an attacker to inject arbitrary system commands. Successful exploitation can lead to remote code execution under the server process's privileges on the host machine, bypassing the sandbox protection of running code inside docker. This vulnerability is fixed in 1.3.0.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:H/PR:N/UI:R/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H","score":7.5},"cwes":["CWE-77"],"references":["https://github.com/alfonsograziano/node-code-sandbox-mcp/commit/e461a74ecb189b268daac0d972c467b49b2abdd2","https://github.com/alfonsograziano/node-code-sandbox-mcp/security/advisories/GHSA-5w57-2ccq-8w95","https://github.com/alfonsograziano/node-code-sandbox-mcp/security/advisories/GHSA-5w57-2ccq-8w95"],"products":[],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T22:04:28.436527499+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2025-53372","score":0.0103,"percentile":0.63733,"date":"2026-10-31"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-5w57-2ccq-8w95","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-5w57-2ccq-8w95","summary":"Node.js Sandbox MCP Server vulnerability can lead to Sandbox Escape via Command Injection","modified":"2026-02-04T03:03:47.310731Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"npm","name":"node-code-sandbox-mcp","purl":"pkg:npm/node-code-sandbox-mcp","ranges":["<1.3.0"],"fixed":["1.3.0"]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
