Prior to version 1.8.0, the Config API returns results without scope verification. This has a large internal surface attack area that exposes all sorts of information from the IDP including clients, users, scripts ..etc. This issue has been patched in version 1.8.0. A workaround for this vulnerability involves users forking and building the config api, patching it in their system following commit 92eea4d.","cvss_v4":{"vector":"CVSS:4.0/AV:N/AC:L/AT:P/PR:N/UI:N/VC:H/VI:N/VA:N/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N","score":8.2},"cvss_v3":null,"cwes":["CWE-200","CWE-269","CWE-284"],"references":["https://github.com/JanssenProject/jans/commit/92eea4d4637f1cae16ad2f07b2c16378ff3fc5f1","https://github.com/JanssenProject/jans/issues/11575","https://github.com/JanssenProject/jans/releases/tag/v1.8.0","https://github.com/JanssenProject/jans/security/advisories/GHSA-373j-mhpf-84wg","https://github.com/JanssenProject/jans/issues/11575"],"products":[],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T22:03:23.287444849+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2025-53003","score":0.0041,"percentile":0.35269,"date":"2026-10-31"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-373j-mhpf-84wg","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-373j-mhpf-84wg","summary":"Janssen Config API returns results without scope verification","modified":"2025-07-01T13:13:21Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"Maven","name":"io.jans:jans-config-api-server","purl":"pkg:maven/io.jans/jans-config-api-server","ranges":["<1.8.0"],"fixed":["1.8.0"]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
