From 0.1.0 to before 0.10.1.1, a Denial of Service (DoS) vulnerability can be triggered by sending a single HTTP GET request with an extremely large header to an HTTP endpoint. This results in server memory exhaustion, potentially leading to a crash or unresponsiveness. The attack does not require authentication, making it exploitable by any remote user. This vulnerability is fixed in 0.10.1.1.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H","score":7.5},"cwes":["CWE-400"],"references":["https://github.com/vllm-project/vllm/commit/d8b736f913a59117803d6701521d2e4861701944","https://github.com/vllm-project/vllm/pull/23267","https://github.com/vllm-project/vllm/security/advisories/GHSA-rxc4-3w6r-4v47"],"products":["vllm:vllm"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T22:07:46.309729541+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2025-48956","score":0.00565,"percentile":0.46921,"date":"2026-10-31"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-rxc4-3w6r-4v47","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-rxc4-3w6r-4v47","summary":"vllm API endpoints vulnerable to Denial of Service Attacks","modified":"2026-09-10T03:50:27.365803772Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"PyPI","name":"vllm","purl":"pkg:pypi/vllm","ranges":[">=0.1.0 <0.10.1.1"],"fixed":["0.10.1.1"]}]},{"id":"PYSEC-2026-2021","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/PYSEC-2026-2021","summary":"vllm API endpoints vulnerable to Denial of Service Attacks","modified":"2026-07-07T17:48:17.626607221Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"PyPI","name":"vllm","purl":"pkg:pypi/vllm","ranges":[">=0.1.0 <0.10.1.1"],"fixed":["0.10.1.1"]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
