Prior to version 5.31.0, an arbitrary file copy vulnerability in Gradio's flagging feature allows unauthenticated attackers to copy any readable file from the server's filesystem. While attackers can't read these copied files, they can cause DoS by copying large files (like /dev/urandom) to fill disk space. This issue has been patched in version 5.31.0.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H","score":7.5},"cwes":["CWE-434"],"references":["https://github.com/gradio-app/gradio/security/advisories/GHSA-8jw3-6x8j-v96g","https://github.com/gradio-app/gradio/security/advisories/GHSA-8jw3-6x8j-v96g"],"products":["gradio_project:gradio"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T22:01:57.636215869+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2025-48889","score":0.00688,"percentile":0.52748,"date":"2026-10-31"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-8jw3-6x8j-v96g","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-8jw3-6x8j-v96g","summary":"Gradio Allows Unauthorized File Copy via Path Manipulation","modified":"2026-06-05T18:00:15.321305524Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"PyPI","name":"gradio","purl":"pkg:pypi/gradio","ranges":["<5.31.0"],"fixed":["5.31.0"]}]},{"id":"PYSEC-2025-119","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/PYSEC-2025-119","summary":"","modified":"2026-05-20T09:19:01.899868Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"PyPI","name":"gradio","purl":"pkg:pypi/gradio","ranges":[">=5.25.2 <5.31.0"],"fixed":["5.31.0"]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
