{"cve":"CVE-2025-48382","nvd":{"published":"2025-05-27T05:15:24.263","modified":"2026-06-17T09:29:34.920","status":"Analyzed","description":"Fess is a deployable Enterprise Search Server. Prior to version 14.19.2, the createTempFile() method in org.codelibs.fess.helper.SystemHelper creates temporary files without explicitly setting restrictive permissions. This could lead to potential information disclosure, allowing unauthorized local users to access sensitive data contained in these files. This issue primarily affects environments where Fess is deployed in a shared or multi-user context. Typical single-user or isolated deployments have minimal or negligible practical impact. This issue has been patched in version 14.19.2. A workaround for this issue involves ensuring local access to the environment running Fess is restricted to trusted users only.","cvss_v4":{"vector":"CVSS:4.0/AV:L/AC:L/AT:N/PR:N/UI:N/VC:L/VI:N/VA:N/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N/E:U","score":1.2},"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:L/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:N/A:N","score":5.5},"cwes":["CWE-732"],"references":["https://github.com/codelibs/fess/commit/25b2009fea2a0f6ccd5aa8154aa54b536c08f6c4","https://github.com/codelibs/fess/security/advisories/GHSA-g88v-2j67-9rmx"],"products":["codelibs:fess"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T22:01:57.636215869+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2025-48382","score":0.00151,"percentile":0.0426,"date":"2026-10-31"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-g88v-2j67-9rmx","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-g88v-2j67-9rmx","summary":"Fess has Insecure Temporary File Permissions","modified":"2025-05-28T15:03:23.963197Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"Maven","name":"org.codelibs.fess:fess","purl":"pkg:maven/org.codelibs.fess/fess","ranges":["<14.19.2"],"fixed":["14.19.2"]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
