Prior to version 6.7.2, there is a potential polynomial Regular Expression Denial of Service (ReDoS) vulnerability in the PowSyBl's DataSource mechanism. If successfully exploited, a malicious actor can cause significant CPU consumption due to regex backtracking — even with polynomial patterns. This issue has been patched in com.powsybl:powsybl-commons: 6.7.2.","cvss_v4":{"vector":"CVSS:4.0/AV:N/AC:L/AT:P/PR:N/UI:N/VC:N/VI:N/VA:L/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N","score":6.3},"cvss_v3":null,"cwes":["CWE-1333"],"references":["https://github.com/powsybl/powsybl-core/commit/72f79dec6d4292f892fbddd68a19c67935c7d81f","https://github.com/powsybl/powsybl-core/releases/tag/v6.7.2","https://github.com/powsybl/powsybl-core/security/advisories/GHSA-rqpx-f6rc-7hm5"],"products":[],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T22:03:23.287444849+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2025-48058","score":0.00415,"percentile":0.35868,"date":"2026-11-01"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-rqpx-f6rc-7hm5","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-rqpx-f6rc-7hm5","summary":"PowSyBl Core contains Polynomial REDoS’es","modified":"2025-06-20T16:22:11.307473Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"Maven","name":"com.powsybl:powsybl-commons","purl":"pkg:maven/com.powsybl/powsybl-commons","ranges":["<6.7.2"],"fixed":["6.7.2"]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
