A vulnerability that is present starting in version 1.4.4-lts.1 and prior to version 2.0.0 allows an attacker to trigger a Denial of Service (DoS) by sending a malformed multi-part upload request. This request causes an unhandled exception, leading to a crash of the process. Users should upgrade to version 2.0.0 to receive a patch. No known workarounds are available.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H","score":7.5},"cwes":["CWE-248"],"references":["https://github.com/expressjs/multer/commit/2c8505f207d923dd8de13a9f93a4563e59933665","https://github.com/expressjs/multer/issues/1176","https://github.com/expressjs/multer/security/advisories/GHSA-4pg4-qvpc-4q3h"],"products":[],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T22:01:57.636215869+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2025-47944","score":0.00811,"percentile":0.56962,"date":"2026-10-31"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-4pg4-qvpc-4q3h","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-4pg4-qvpc-4q3h","summary":"Multer vulnerable to Denial of Service from maliciously crafted requests","modified":"2026-09-10T03:50:24.279436659Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"npm","name":"multer","purl":"pkg:npm/multer","ranges":[">=1.4.4-lts.1 <2.0.0"],"fixed":["2.0.0"]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
