In versions 0.43.1b1 through 0.43.1b3, using a constructed (camera) device path with the `add`/`add_camera` motionEye web API allows an attacker with motionEye admin user credentials to execute any command within a non-interactive shell as motionEye run user, `motion` by default. The vulnerability has been patched with motionEye v0.43.1b4. As a workaround, apply the patch manually.","cvss_v4":{"vector":"CVSS:4.0/AV:N/AC:L/AT:N/PR:N/UI:N/VC:H/VI:H/VA:H/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N/E:P","score":8.9},"cvss_v3":null,"cwes":["CWE-78"],"references":["https://github.com/motioneye-project/motioneye/issues/3142","https://github.com/motioneye-project/motioneye/pull/3143","https://github.com/motioneye-project/motioneye/security/advisories/GHSA-g5mq-prx7-c588","https://github.com/motioneye-project/motioneye/security/advisories/GHSA-g5mq-prx7-c588"],"products":[],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T22:01:22.920403922+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2025-47782","score":0.00508,"percentile":0.43429,"date":"2026-10-31"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-g5mq-prx7-c588","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-g5mq-prx7-c588","summary":"motionEye vulnerable to RCE in add_camera Function Due to unsafe command execution","modified":"2026-09-10T03:50:57.453307935Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"PyPI","name":"motioneye","purl":"pkg:pypi/motioneye","ranges":[">=0.43.1b1 <0.43.1b4"],"fixed":["0.43.1b4"]}]},{"id":"PYSEC-2025-39","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/PYSEC-2025-39","summary":"","modified":"2025-05-14T17:57:10.936625Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"PyPI","name":"motioneye","purl":"pkg:pypi/motioneye","ranges":[">=0.43.1b1 <0.43.1b4"],"fixed":["0.43.1b4"]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
