{"cve":"CVE-2025-46819","nvd":{"published":"2025-10-03T19:15:43.490","modified":"2026-10-19T17:10:00.173","status":"Analyzed","description":"Redis is an open source, in-memory database that persists on disk. Versions 8.2.1 and below allow an authenticated user to use a specially crafted LUA script to read out-of-bound data or crash the server and subsequent denial of service. The problem exists in all versions of Redis with Lua scripting. This issue is fixed in version 8.2.2. To workaround this issue without patching the redis-server executable is to prevent users from executing Lua scripts. This can be done using ACL to block a script by restricting both the EVAL and FUNCTION command families.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:L/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:N/A:H","score":7.1},"cwes":["CWE-125","CWE-190"],"references":["https://github.com/redis/redis/commit/3a1624da2449ac3dbfc4bdaed43adf77a0b7bfba","https://github.com/redis/redis/releases/tag/8.2.2","https://github.com/redis/redis/security/advisories/GHSA-4c68-q8q8-3g4f","https://www.vicarius.io/vsociety/posts/cve-2025-46819-detect-redis-vulnerability","https://www.vicarius.io/vsociety/posts/cve-2025-46819-mitigate-redis-vulnerability"],"products":["redis:redis"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T22:11:26.888974865+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2025-46819","score":0.01086,"percentile":0.65027,"date":"2026-10-25"},"kev":null,"osv":[],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
