{"cve":"CVE-2025-46814","nvd":{"published":"2025-05-06T15:16:02.217","modified":"2026-06-17T09:26:58.673","status":"Analyzed","description":"FastAPI Guard is a security library for FastAPI that provides middleware to control IPs, log requests, and detect penetration attempts. An HTTP header injection vulnerability has been identified in versions prior to 2.0.0. By manipulating the X-Forwarded-For header, an attacker can potentially inject arbitrary IP addresses into the request. This vulnerability can allow attackers to bypass IP-based access controls, mislead logging systems, and impersonate trusted clients. It is especially impactful when the application relies on the X-Forwarded-For header for IP-based authorization or authentication. Users should upgrade to FastAPI Guard version 2.0.0 to receive a fix.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:H/A:N","score":7.5},"cwes":["CWE-74"],"references":["https://github.com/rennf93/fastapi-guard/commit/0b003fda4c678c1b514e95f319aee88113e9bf4b","https://github.com/rennf93/fastapi-guard/security/advisories/GHSA-77q8-qmj7-x7pp"],"products":["fastapi-guard:fastapi_guard"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T22:01:22.920403922+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2025-46814","score":0.00336,"percentile":0.26986,"date":"2026-11-01"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"PYSEC-2025-242","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/PYSEC-2025-242","summary":"","modified":"2026-07-13T07:15:25.026826105Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"PyPI","name":"fastapi-guard","purl":"pkg:pypi/fastapi-guard","ranges":["<2.0.0"],"fixed":["2.0.0"]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
