{"cve":"CVE-2025-46328","nvd":{"published":"2025-04-28T23:15:44.943","modified":"2026-06-17T09:26:14.630","status":"Analyzed","description":"snowflake-connector-nodejs is a NodeJS driver for Snowflake. Versions starting from 1.10.0 to before 2.0.4, are vulnerable to a Time-of-Check to Time-of-Use (TOCTOU) race condition. When using the Easy Logging feature on Linux and macOS the Driver reads logging configuration from a user-provided file. On Linux and macOS the Driver verifies that the configuration file can be written to only by its owner. That check was vulnerable to a TOCTOU race condition and failed to verify that the file owner matches the user running the Driver. This could allow a local attacker with write access to the configuration file or the directory containing it to overwrite the configuration and gain control over logging level and output location. This issue has been patched in version 2.0.4.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:L/AC:H/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H","score":7.0},"cwes":["CWE-367"],"references":["https://github.com/snowflakedb/snowflake-connector-nodejs/commit/e94c24112271e1f44c271634bf29a3188acc68d0","https://github.com/snowflakedb/snowflake-connector-nodejs/security/advisories/GHSA-wmjq-jrm2-9wfr"],"products":["snowflake:snowflake_connector"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T22:01:11.054312287+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2025-46328","score":0.00172,"percentile":0.06535,"date":"2026-10-31"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-wmjq-jrm2-9wfr","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-wmjq-jrm2-9wfr","summary":"NodeJS Driver for Snowflake has race condition when checking access to Easy Logging configuration file","modified":"2025-04-29T13:10:46Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"npm","name":"snowflake-sdk","purl":"pkg:npm/snowflake-sdk","ranges":[">=1.10.0 <2.0.4"],"fixed":["2.0.4"]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
