This length is controlled by the USB device.\n\nThe allocated buffer is cast to a uac3_cluster_header_descriptor\nand its fields are accessed without verifying that the buffer\nis large enough. If the device returns a smaller than expected\nlength, this leads to an out-of-bounds read.\n\nAdd a length check to ensure the buffer is large enough for\nuac3_cluster_header_descriptor.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:L/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:N/A:H","score":7.1},"cwes":["CWE-125"],"references":["https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/0ee87c2814deb5e42921281116ac3abcb326880b","https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/11e740dc1a2c8590eb7074b5c4ab921bb6224c36","https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/24ff7d465c4284529bbfa207757bffb6f44b6403","https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/2dc1c3edf67abd30c757f8054a5da61927cdda21","https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/6eb211788e1370af52a245d4d7da35c374c7b401"],"products":["debian:debian_linux","linux:linux_kernel"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T22:04:28.436527499+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2025-38249","score":0.00186,"percentile":0.08189,"date":"2026-10-31"},"kev":null,"osv":[],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
