{"cve":"CVE-2025-34189","nvd":{"published":"2025-09-19T19:15:39.190","modified":"2026-10-18T21:10:00.120","status":"Modified","description":"Vasion Print (formerly PrinterLogic) Virtual Appliance Host versions prior to 1.0.735 and Application versions prior to 20.0.1330 (macOS/Linux client deployments) contain a vulnerability in the local inter-process communication (IPC) mechanism. The software stores IPC request and response files inside /opt/PrinterInstallerClient/tmp with world-readable and world-writable permissions. Any local user can craft malicious request files that are processed by privileged daemons, leading to unauthorized actions being executed in other user sessions. This breaks user session isolation, potentially allowing local attackers to hijack sessions, perform unintended actions in the context of other users, and impact system integrity and availability. This vulnerability has been identified by the vendor as: V-2022-004 — Client Inter-process Security.","cvss_v4":{"vector":"CVSS:4.0/AV:L/AC:L/AT:N/PR:L/UI:N/VC:L/VI:H/VA:L/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N","score":6.9},"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:L/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H","score":7.8},"cwes":["CWE-732","CWE-922"],"references":["https://help.printerlogic.com/saas/Print/Security/Security-Bulletins.htm","https://help.printerlogic.com/va/Print/Security/Security-Bulletins.htm","https://pierrekim.github.io/blog/2025-04-08-vasion-printerlogic-83-vulnerabilities.html#mac-lack-auth-communication","https://www.vulncheck.com/advisories/vasion-print-printerlogic-insecure-interprocess-communication"],"products":["vasion:virtual_appliance_application","vasion:virtual_appliance_host"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T22:10:08.713834912+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2025-34189","score":0.00253,"percentile":0.16639,"date":"2026-10-25"},"kev":null,"osv":[],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
