{"cve":"CVE-2025-32439","nvd":{"published":"2025-04-15T20:15:39.677","modified":"2026-06-17T09:11:59.750","status":"Deferred","description":"pleezer is a headless Deezer Connect player. Hook scripts in pleezer can be triggered by various events like track changes and playback state changes. In versions before 0.16.0, these scripts were spawned without proper process cleanup, leaving zombie processes in the system's process table. Even during normal usage, every track change and playback event would leave behind zombie processes. This leads to inevitable resource exhaustion over time as the system's process table fills up, eventually preventing new processes from being created. The issue is exacerbated if events occur rapidly, whether through normal use (e.g., skipping through a playlist) or potential manipulation of the Deezer Connect protocol traffic. This issue has been fixed in version 0.16.0.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H","score":6.5},"cwes":["CWE-460"],"references":["https://github.com/roderickvd/pleezer/security/advisories/GHSA-472w-7w45-g3w5"],"products":[],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T22:00:57.946988208+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2025-32439","score":0.00391,"percentile":0.33209,"date":"2026-10-31"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-472w-7w45-g3w5","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-472w-7w45-g3w5","summary":"Pleezer resource exhaustion through uncollected hook script processes","modified":"2025-07-21T16:49:50Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"crates.io","name":"pleezer","purl":"pkg:cargo/pleezer","ranges":["<0.16.0"],"fixed":["0.16.0"]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
