Prior to 2.10.1, a vulnerability in Apollo Gateway allowed queries with deeply nested and reused named fragments to be prohibitively expensive to query plan, specifically during named fragment expansion. Named fragments were being expanded once per fragment spread during query planning, leading to exponential resource usage when deeply nested and reused fragments were involved. This could lead to excessive resource consumption and denial of service. This has been remediated in @apollo/gateway version 2.10.1.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H","score":7.5},"cwes":["CWE-770"],"references":["https://github.com/apollographql/federation/pull/3236","https://github.com/apollographql/federation/releases/tag/%40apollo%2Fgateway%402.10.1","https://github.com/apollographql/federation/security/advisories/GHSA-q2f9-x4p4-7xmh"],"products":["apollographql:apollo_gateway"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T22:00:57.946988208+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2025-32030","score":0.00531,"percentile":0.44898,"date":"2026-10-31"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-q2f9-x4p4-7xmh","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-q2f9-x4p4-7xmh","summary":"Apollo Gateway Query Planner Vulnerable to Excessive Resource Consumption via Named Fragment Expansion","modified":"2025-04-08T17:50:55Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"npm","name":"@apollo/gateway","purl":"pkg:npm/%40apollo/gateway","ranges":["<2.10.1"],"fixed":["2.10.1"]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
