The EXIF data format allows for defining excessively large data structures in relatively small payloads. Before v0.10.0, If you didn't trust the input images, this could be abused to construct denial-of-service attacks. v0.10.0 added LimitNumTags (default 5000) and LimitTagSize (default 10000) options.","cvss_v4":{"vector":"CVSS:4.0/AV:L/AC:L/AT:N/PR:N/UI:N/VC:N/VI:N/VA:H/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N","score":6.9},"cvss_v3":null,"cwes":["CWE-770"],"references":["https://github.com/bep/imagemeta/commit/4fd89616d8bf7f9bb892360d3fb19080ec2b4602","https://github.com/bep/imagemeta/security/advisories/GHSA-q7rw-w4cq-2j6w"],"products":[],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T22:00:57.946988208+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2025-32024","score":0.00181,"percentile":0.07639,"date":"2026-10-31"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-q7rw-w4cq-2j6w","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-q7rw-w4cq-2j6w","summary":"bep/imagemeta allows excessively large EXIF data structures","modified":"2026-09-10T03:50:24.040657614Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"Go","name":"github.com/bep/imagemeta","purl":"pkg:golang/github.com/bep/imagemeta","ranges":["<0.10.0"],"fixed":["0.10.0"]}]},{"id":"GO-2025-3598","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GO-2025-3598","summary":"bep/imagemeta allows excessively large EXIF data structures in github.com/bep/imagemeta","modified":"2026-02-04T03:08:57.510595Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"Go","name":"github.com/bep/imagemeta","purl":"pkg:golang/github.com/bep/imagemeta","ranges":["<0.10.0"],"fixed":["0.10.0"]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
