A vulnerability has been identified in Redlib where an attacker can cause a denial-of-service (DOS) condition by submitting a specially crafted base2048-encoded DEFLATE decompression bomb to the restore_preferences form. This leads to excessive memory consumption and potential system instability, which can be exploited to disrupt Redlib instances. This vulnerability is fixed in 0.36.0.","cvss_v4":{"vector":"CVSS:4.0/AV:N/AC:L/AT:N/PR:N/UI:N/VC:N/VI:N/VA:H/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N","score":8.7},"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H","score":7.5},"cwes":["CWE-400","CWE-502"],"references":["https://github.com/redlib-org/redlib/commit/15147cea8e42f6569a11603d661d71122f6a02dc","https://github.com/redlib-org/redlib/commit/2e95e1fc6e2064ccfae87964b4860bda55eddb9a","https://github.com/redlib-org/redlib/security/advisories/GHSA-g8vq-v3mg-7mrg"],"products":["redlib:redlib"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T22:00:28.034033815+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2025-30160","score":0.00578,"percentile":0.47628,"date":"2026-10-31"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-g8vq-v3mg-7mrg","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-g8vq-v3mg-7mrg","summary":"Redlib allows a Denial of Service via DEFLATE Decompression Bomb in restore_preferences Form","modified":"2025-03-21T15:26:55Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"crates.io","name":"redlib","purl":"pkg:cargo/redlib","ranges":["<0.36.0"],"fixed":["0.36.0"]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
