In Vega prior to version 5.32.0, corresponding to vega-functions prior to version 5.17.0, users running Vega/Vega-lite JSON definitions could run unexpected JavaScript code when drawing graphs, unless the library was used with the `vega-interpreter`. Vega version 5.32.0 and vega-functions version 5.17.0 fix the issue. As a workaround, use `vega` with expression interpreter.","cvss_v4":{"vector":"CVSS:4.0/AV:N/AC:L/AT:N/PR:N/UI:P/VC:N/VI:N/VA:N/SC:L/SI:L/SA:N","score":5.3},"cvss_v3":null,"cwes":["CWE-79","CWE-87"],"references":["https://github.com/vega/vega/commit/694560c0aa576df8b6c5f0f7d202ac82233e6966","https://github.com/vega/vega/releases/tag/v5.32.0","https://github.com/vega/vega/security/advisories/GHSA-963h-3v39-3pqf","https://vega.github.io/vega/usage/interpreter"],"products":[],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T22:00:28.034033815+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2025-27793","score":0.00517,"percentile":0.43989,"date":"2026-11-01"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-963h-3v39-3pqf","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-963h-3v39-3pqf","summary":"Vega vulnerable to Cross-site Scripting via RegExp.prototype[@@replace]","modified":"2025-03-27T18:08:39.051781Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"npm","name":"vega","purl":"pkg:npm/vega","ranges":["<5.32.0"],"fixed":["5.32.0"]},{"ecosystem":"npm","name":"vega-functions","purl":"pkg:npm/vega-functions","ranges":["<5.17.0"],"fixed":["5.17.0"]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
