{"cve":"CVE-2025-27415","nvd":{"published":"2025-03-19T19:15:47.257","modified":"2026-06-17T09:03:32.660","status":"Analyzed","description":"Nuxt is an open-source web development framework for Vue.js. Prior to 3.16.0, by sending a crafted HTTP request to a server behind an CDN, it is possible in some circumstances to poison the CDN cache and highly impacts the availability of a site. It is possible to craft a request, such as https://mysite.com/?/_payload.json which will be rendered as JSON. If the CDN in front of a Nuxt site ignores the query string when determining whether to cache a route, then this JSON response could be served to future visitors to the site. An attacker can perform this attack to a vulnerable site in order to make a site unavailable indefinitely. It is also possible in the case where the cache will be reset to make a small script to send a request each X seconds (=caching duration) so that the cache is permanently poisoned making the site completely unavailable. This vulnerability is fixed in 3.16.0.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H","score":7.5},"cwes":["CWE-349"],"references":["https://github.com/nuxt/nuxt/security/advisories/GHSA-jvhm-gjrh-3h93"],"products":["nuxt:nuxt"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T22:00:17.429720821+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2025-27415","score":0.00391,"percentile":0.33225,"date":"2026-10-31"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-jvhm-gjrh-3h93","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-jvhm-gjrh-3h93","summary":"Nuxt allows DOS via cache poisoning with payload rendering response","modified":"2025-03-20T19:31:04Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"npm","name":"nuxt","purl":"pkg:npm/nuxt","ranges":[">=3.0.0 <3.16.0"],"fixed":["3.16.0"]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
