An authorized user with read access to the provenance events of those processors may see the credentials information. Upgrading to Apache NiFi 2.3.0 is the recommended mitigation, which removes the credentials from provenance event records.","cvss_v4":{"vector":"CVSS:4.0/AV:N/AC:L/AT:P/PR:H/UI:N/VC:H/VI:N/VA:N/SC:H/SI:N/SA:N/S:P/AU:Y/R:U/V:C/RE:L/U:Green","score":6.9},"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:N/A:N","score":6.5},"cwes":["CWE-538"],"references":["https://lists.apache.org/thread/d4n5474jkhp82dvnht13pjtlfx7bhn5q","http://www.openwall.com/lists/oss-security/2025/03/11/1"],"products":["apache:nifi"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T22:00:17.429720821+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2025-27017","score":0.0125,"percentile":0.69387,"date":"2026-11-01"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-35gq-cvrm-xf94","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-35gq-cvrm-xf94","summary":"Apache NiFi: Potential Insertion of MongoDB Password in Provenance Record","modified":"2025-07-16T21:29:14.956959Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"Maven","name":"org.apache.nifi:nifi-mongodb-services","purl":"pkg:maven/org.apache.nifi/nifi-mongodb-services","ranges":[">=1.13.0 <2.3.0"],"fixed":["2.3.0"]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
