{"cve":"CVE-2025-24802","nvd":{"published":"2025-01-30T20:15:51.010","modified":"2026-06-17T08:59:38.277","status":"Deferred","description":"Plonky2 is a SNARK implementation based on techniques from PLONK and FRI. Lookup tables, whose length is not divisible by 26 = floor(num_routed_wires / 3) always include the 0 -> 0 input-output pair. Thus a malicious prover can always prove that f(0) = 0 for any lookup table f (unless its length happens to be divisible by 26). The cause of problem is that the LookupTableGate-s are padded with zeros. A workaround from the user side is to extend the table (by repeating some entries) so that its length becomes divisible by 26. This vulnerability is fixed in 1.0.1.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:C/C:N/I:H/A:N","score":8.6},"cwes":["CWE-1240"],"references":["https://github.com/0xPolygonZero/plonky2/blob/main/plonky2/src/plonk/prover.rs#L97","https://github.com/0xPolygonZero/plonky2/commit/091047f7f10cae082716f3738ad59a583835f7b6","https://github.com/0xPolygonZero/plonky2/security/advisories/GHSA-hj49-h7fq-px5h"],"products":[],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T21:58:41.599736885+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2025-24802","score":0.00321,"percentile":0.2511,"date":"2026-10-31"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-hj49-h7fq-px5h","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-hj49-h7fq-px5h","summary":"Soundness issue with Plonky2 look up tables","modified":"2025-01-30T21:36:51Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"crates.io","name":"plonky2","purl":"pkg:cargo/plonky2","ranges":[">=1.0.0 <1.0.1"],"fixed":["1.0.1"]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
