Snowflake discovered and remediated a vulnerability in the Snowflake JDBC Driver. When the EXTERNALBROWSER authentication method is used on Windows, an attacker with write access to a directory in the %PATH% can escalate their privileges to the user that runs the vulnerable JDBC Driver version. This vulnerability affects versions 3.2.3 through 3.21.0 on Windows. Snowflake fixed the issue in version 3.22.0.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:L/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H","score":7.8},"cwes":["CWE-426"],"references":["https://github.com/snowflakedb/snowflake-jdbc/commit/4f01bb8f9b708c71e7a2111c87371dbfc1d53dd6","https://github.com/snowflakedb/snowflake-jdbc/security/advisories/GHSA-7hpq-3g6w-pvhf"],"products":["snowflake:snowflake_jdbc"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T21:58:41.599736885+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2025-24789","score":0.00257,"percentile":0.1746,"date":"2026-10-31"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-7hpq-3g6w-pvhf","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-7hpq-3g6w-pvhf","summary":"Snowflake JDBC allows an untrusted search path on Windows","modified":"2026-09-10T03:50:56.369282348Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"Maven","name":"net.snowflake:snowflake-jdbc","purl":"pkg:maven/net.snowflake/snowflake-jdbc","ranges":[">=3.2.3 <3.22.0"],"fixed":["3.22.0"]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
