Prior to 0.17.0, gix-worktree-state specifies 0777 permissions when checking out executable files, intending that the umask will restrict them appropriately. But one of the strategies it uses to set permissions is not subject to the umask. This causes files in a repository to be world-writable in some situations. This vulnerability is fixed in 0.17.0.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:L/AC:L/PR:L/UI:R/S:U/C:N/I:H/A:N","score":5.0},"cwes":["CWE-281","CWE-687"],"references":["https://github.com/GitoxideLabs/gitoxide/security/advisories/GHSA-fqmf-w4xh-33rh"],"products":[],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T21:58:41.599736885+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2025-22620","score":0.00372,"percentile":0.31164,"date":"2026-10-31"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-fqmf-w4xh-33rh","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-fqmf-w4xh-33rh","summary":"gix-worktree-state nonexclusive checkout sets executable files world-writable","modified":"2026-09-10T03:50:56.333670088Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"crates.io","name":"gix-worktree-state","purl":"pkg:cargo/gix-worktree-state","ranges":["<0.17.0"],"fixed":["0.17.0"]}]},{"id":"RUSTSEC-2025-0001","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/RUSTSEC-2025-0001","summary":"gix-worktree-state nonexclusive checkout sets executable files world-writable","modified":"2026-10-12T18:00:13.046302101Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"crates.io","name":"gix-worktree-state","purl":"pkg:cargo/gix-worktree-state","ranges":[">=0.0.0-0 <0.17.0"],"fixed":["0.17.0"]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
