{"cve":"CVE-2025-14905","nvd":{"published":"2026-02-23T16:29:35.620","modified":"2026-06-30T00:16:54.117","status":"Deferred","description":"A flaw was found in the 389-ds-base server. A heap buffer overflow vulnerability exists in the `schema_attr_enum_callback` function within the `schema.c` file. This occurs because the code incorrectly calculates the buffer size by summing alias string lengths without accounting for additional formatting characters. When a large number of aliases are processed, this oversight can lead to a heap overflow, potentially allowing a remote attacker to cause a Denial of Service (DoS) or achieve Remote Code Execution (RCE).","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:H/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H","score":7.2},"cwes":["CWE-122"],"references":["https://access.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2026:3189","https://access.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2026:3208","https://access.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2026:3379","https://access.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2026:3504","https://access.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2026:4207"],"products":[],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T22:24:17.937441719+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2025-14905","score":0.01292,"percentile":0.70277,"date":"2026-10-31"},"kev":null,"osv":[],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
