However, the implementation uses a non-standard cryptographic hashing algorithm that is vulnerable to second preimage attacks. An attacker with physical access to the device can exploit this weakness to generate a malicious firmware image with a hash collision, bypassing the secure boot verification mechanism and installing arbitrary unauthorized firmware on the device.","cvss_v4":{"vector":"CVSS:4.0/AV:P/AC:L/AT:N/PR:N/UI:N/VC:H/VI:H/VA:H/SC:L/SI:L/SA:N/AU:N/R:I/V:C/RE:M","score":7.0},"cvss_v3":null,"cwes":["CWE-327"],"references":["https://www.semtech.com/company/security/security-bulletins/sem-psa-2026-001"],"products":[],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T22:28:59.047572785+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2025-14859","score":0.0011,"percentile":0.01245,"date":"2026-10-31"},"kev":null,"osv":[],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
