An \nauthenticated user with Gateway Administrator privileges can import a \nmalicious gateway backup (.gwbk) file containing crafted project \nresources, scripts, or modules, resulting in code execution on the host \nsystem. This affects both Windows and Linux installations. On Windows, \ndefault installations often run the Ignition service as NT \nAUTHORITY\\SYSTEM, resulting in code execution with full local system \nprivileges. On Linux, default installations commonly run the Ignition \nservice as root or with elevated privileges. Specific privilege level \ndepends on installation configuration.","cvss_v4":{"vector":"CVSS:4.0/AV:A/AC:H/AT:N/PR:H/UI:N/VC:H/VI:H/VA:H/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N","score":7.3},"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:A/AC:H/PR:H/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H","score":6.4},"cwes":["CWE-250"],"references":["https://github.com/cisagov/CSAF/blob/develop/csaf_files/OT/white/2025/icsa-25-352-01.json","https://security.inductiveautomation.com/","https://www.cisa.gov/news-events/ics-advisories/icsa-25-352-01"],"products":[],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T22:17:07.138532058+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2025-13911","score":0.00253,"percentile":0.16821,"date":"2026-11-01"},"kev":null,"osv":[],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
