{"cve":"CVE-2025-13033","nvd":{"published":"2025-11-14T20:15:45.957","modified":"2026-10-18T20:10:00.110","status":"Deferred","description":"A vulnerability was identified in the email parsing library due to improper handling of specially formatted recipient email addresses. An attacker can exploit this flaw by crafting a recipient address that embeds an external address within quotes. This causes the application to misdirect the email to the attacker's external address instead of the intended internal recipient. This could lead to a significant data leak of sensitive information and allow an attacker to bypass security filters and access controls.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:N/A:N","score":7.5},"cwes":["CWE-1286"],"references":["https://access.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2026:15979","https://access.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2026:3751","https://access.redhat.com/security/cve/CVE-2025-13033","https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=2402179","https://github.com/nodemailer/nodemailer"],"products":[],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T22:16:02.354564667+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2025-13033","score":0.00575,"percentile":0.47155,"date":"2026-10-25"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-mm7p-fcc7-pg87","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-mm7p-fcc7-pg87","summary":"Nodemailer: Email to an unintended domain can occur due to Interpretation Conflict","modified":"2026-09-10T03:50:30.113440777Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"npm","name":"nodemailer","purl":"pkg:npm/nodemailer","ranges":["<7.0.7"],"fixed":["7.0.7"]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
