{"cve":"CVE-2025-12775","nvd":{"published":"2025-11-18T09:15:48.903","modified":"2026-10-18T20:10:00.110","status":"Deferred","description":"The WP Dropzone plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to authenticated arbitrary file upload in all versions up to, and including, 1.1.0 via the `ajax_upload_handle` function. This is due to the chunked upload functionality writing files directly to the uploads directory before any file type validation occurs. This makes it possible for authenticated attackers, with subscriber level access and above, to upload arbitrary files on the affected site's server which may make remote code execution possible.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H","score":8.8},"cwes":["CWE-434"],"references":["https://plugins.trac.wordpress.org/browser/wp-dropzone/tags/1.1.0/includes/class-plugin.php#L127","https://plugins.trac.wordpress.org/browser/wp-dropzone/tags/1.1.0/includes/class-plugin.php#L88","https://plugins.trac.wordpress.org/changeset?sfp_email=&sfph_mail=&reponame=&old=3395966%40wp-dropzone&new=3395966%40wp-dropzone&sfp_email=&sfph_mail=","https://www.wordfence.com/threat-intel/vulnerabilities/id/afd7aeb7-2c6f-4b23-b8b1-52fb010e5aac?source=cve"],"products":[],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T22:16:02.354564667+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2025-12775","score":0.00657,"percentile":0.51142,"date":"2026-10-25"},"kev":null,"osv":[],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
