{"cve":"CVE-2025-12627","nvd":{"published":"2026-08-06T08:16:28.063","modified":"2026-09-29T14:10:00.117","status":"Analyzed","description":"The user impersonation flow in WSO2 Identity Server fails to properly manage refresh tokens associated with impersonated sessions. This allows an attacker who has obtained an access token for an impersonated user to leverage the refresh token grant to obtain new access tokens, extending their ability to act as the legitimate user.\n\nAn attacker who gains access to an impersonated user's access token can exploit this weakness to renew their authorization. This results in the continued ability to perform actions on behalf of the actual user, compromising log integrity and traceability by masking the true actor.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:A/AC:L/PR:H/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:L/A:N","score":2.4},"cwes":["CWE-613"],"references":["https://security.docs.wso2.com/en/latest/security-announcements/security-advisories/2026/WSO2-2025-4619/"],"products":["wso2:identity_server"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T22:47:10.050265369+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2025-12627","score":0.00204,"percentile":0.10435,"date":"2026-11-01"},"kev":null,"osv":[],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
