{"cve":"CVE-2025-11266","nvd":{"published":"2025-12-12T21:15:51.653","modified":"2026-10-07T20:10:01.970","status":"Deferred","description":"An out-of-bounds write vulnerability exists in the Grassroots DICOM library (GDCM). The issue is triggered during parsing of a malformed DICOM file containing encapsulated PixelData fragments (compressed image data stored as multiple fragments). This vulnerability leads to a segmentation fault caused by an out-of-bounds memory access due to unsigned integer underflow in buffer indexing. It is exploitable via file input, simply opening a crafted malicious DICOM file is sufficient to trigger the crash, resulting in a denial-of-service condition.","cvss_v4":{"vector":"CVSS:4.0/AV:L/AC:L/AT:N/PR:N/UI:A/VC:L/VI:L/VA:H/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N","score":6.8},"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:L/AC:L/PR:N/UI:R/S:U/C:L/I:L/A:H","score":6.6},"cwes":["CWE-787"],"references":["https://github.com/cisagov/CSAF/blob/develop/csaf_files/OT/white/2025/icsma-25-345-01.json","https://github.com/malaterre/GDCM/releases/tag/v3.2.2","https://www.cisa.gov/news-events/ics-medical-advisories/icsma-25-345-01","https://github.com/malaterre/GDCM/commit/5829c95c8ac3afa9a3a3413675e948959c28a789"],"products":[],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T22:17:07.138532058+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2025-11266","score":0.00146,"percentile":0.03771,"date":"2026-10-25"},"kev":null,"osv":[],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
