On Unix systems, OpenFile with O_CREATE and O_EXCL flags never follows symlinks. On Windows, when the target path was a symlink to a nonexistent location, OpenFile would create a file in that location. OpenFile now always returns an error when the O_CREATE and O_EXCL flags are both set and the target path is a symlink.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:L/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:H/A:N","score":5.5},"cwes":["CWE-59"],"references":["https://go.dev/cl/672396","https://go.dev/issue/73702","https://groups.google.com/g/golang-announce/c/ufZ8WpEsA3A","https://pkg.go.dev/vuln/GO-2025-3750"],"products":["golang:go"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T22:02:23.998251710+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2025-0913","score":0.00325,"percentile":0.25604,"date":"2026-10-31"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GO-2025-3750","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GO-2025-3750","summary":"Inconsistent handling of O_CREATE|O_EXCL on Unix and Windows in os in syscall","modified":"2026-02-04T03:28:12.135241Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"Go","name":"stdlib","purl":"pkg:golang/stdlib","ranges":["<1.23.10",">=1.24.0-0 <1.24.4"],"fixed":["1.23.10","1.24.4"]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
