In one such case, ktrace dumps a variable-sized sockaddr to userspace. There, the full sockaddr is copied, even when it is shorter than the full size. This can result in up to 14 uninitialized bytes of kernel memory being copied out to userspace.\n\nIt is possible for an unprivileged userspace program to leak 14 bytes of a kernel heap allocation to userspace.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:H/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:N/A:N","score":4.9},"cwes":["CWE-122"],"references":["https://security.freebsd.org/advisories/FreeBSD-SA-25:04.ktrace.asc","https://security.netapp.com/advisory/ntap-20250207-0006/"],"products":[],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T21:58:41.599736885+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2025-0662","score":0.00361,"percentile":0.29932,"date":"2026-10-31"},"kev":null,"osv":[],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
