This is due to missing validation on the token being supplied during the otp login through the plugin. This makes it possible for unauthenticated attackers to log in as any existing user on the site, such as an administrator, if they know the phone number associated with that user.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:H/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H","score":8.1},"cwes":["CWE-306","CWE-288"],"references":["https://plugins.trac.wordpress.org/browser/miniorange-firebase-sms-otp-verification/tags/3.6.0/handler/forms/class-loginform.php#L144","https://plugins.trac.wordpress.org/browser/miniorange-firebase-sms-otp-verification/tags/3.6.0/handler/forms/class-loginform.php#L190","https://plugins.trac.wordpress.org/changeset/3169869/miniorange-firebase-sms-otp-verification#file3","https://www.wordfence.com/threat-intel/vulnerabilities/id/04045ec3-dd8e-4ac5-bd73-eef6205ecc62?source=cve"],"products":["miniorange:otp_verification_with_firebase"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T21:55:31.737901711+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2024-9861","score":0.00627,"percentile":0.50077,"date":"2026-10-31"},"kev":null,"osv":[],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
